OFFICIAL STORE POLICY: At Suncoast European Market, Inc., we are committed to providing safe, high-quality imported groceries, prepared foods, and café items while maintaining a respectful, welcoming, and safe environment for all customers and staff. This policy exists to protect public health, promote food safety, ensure fairness and consistency, and maintain a respectful atmosphere in our store.
PERISHABLE AND PREPARED FOODS — FINAL SALE: For food safety reasons, Suncoast European Market, Inc. does not accept returns or exchanges on perishable foods, prepared foods, ready-to-eat items, deli items, bakery items, or café purchases. Food products that have left the control of the establishment and have been in a customer’s possession may not be reintroduced into commerce or re-served to the public. This policy is consistent with applicable food safety laws and regulations, including the Florida Food Safety Act (Chapter 500, Florida Statutes), applicable Florida Administrative Code rules, and generally recognized FDA Food Code food-safety principles regarding returned food. No refunds or returns will be issued for these items unless there is verifiable manufacturer spoilage, contamination, or expiration beyond the labeled date, and the issue is reviewed and confirmed by management with proof of purchase.
CASE-BY-CASE EVALUATION: Non-perishable items may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at management’s sole discretion. Approval of a return does not guarantee a refund.
NO TASTE OR CHANGE-OF-MIND REFUNDS: Refunds or returns will not be issued due to personal taste preferences, dislike of flavor, texture, or aroma, or a change of mind after purchase.
CAVIAR AND SPECIALTY DELICATESSENS: Customers will continue to earn loyalty rewards points on purchases of caviar and specialty delicatessen items. However, loyalty rewards points may not be redeemed toward the purchase of caviar or specialty delicatessen items unless specifically advertised and a promotion is in effect for a selected caviar product. Caviar and specialty delicatessens are premium products priced at minimal market margins based on wholesale market conditions and are generally excluded from reward redemption, additional discounts, or promotional pricing except where explicitly stated.
VITAMINS, PHARMACEUTICALS, AND OPENED PRODUCTS: For health and safety reasons and to protect product integrity, no returns or refunds are accepted for vitamins, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or any opened, used, or tampered food or beverage items.
CUSTOMER CODE OF CONDUCT: At Suncoast European Market, we value every customer and strive to provide a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment. Customers must treat other customers, employees and staff, ownership, and management with courtesy, respect, and professionalism at all times. Rude, aggressive, abusive behavior, harassment, intimidation, threats, discriminatory language or actions of any kind, or disruptive or unsafe conduct will not be tolerated. This applies to verbal, physical, and written interactions, including in-person, phone, and electronic communication. Suncoast European Market, Inc. reserves the right to refuse service to any individual whose behavior is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of this policy, as permitted by the laws of the State of Florida. Refusal of service may occur without warning when necessary to protect the safety, comfort, or well-being of others. This policy is enforced equally and without discrimination. Service will never be refused based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected class under state or federal law.
LEGAL AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: This policy is intended to support food safety, consumer protection, and public health requirements, including the Florida Food Safety Act (Chapter 500, Florida Statutes) and applicable rules of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, including Rule Chapter 5K-4, Florida Administrative Code. This policy is also consistent with generally recognized food-safety standards and guidance, including FDA Food Code principles relating to returned food and the prohibition on re-service or resale of food once it has left the control of the establishment. Nothing in this policy limits a customer’s rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
FINAL AUTHORITY: Management reserves the right to interpret, apply, and enforce this policy and to refuse any return, refund, or service that does not meet its terms. By making a purchase, the customer acknowledges and agrees to this policy.
